Binondo Kids. I admire kids. Their innocence, happiness, their smile, everything is just authentic. Acts that could make ones day complete. One street shoot led me to notice these two kids while FlickristasIndios were walking in Binondo. These two kids, seated along a closed establishment, passing time.
Reminiscing. I remember days when my friend Daniel would invite me to pass time with him and his friend. We hang out at the nearby cemetery, far and secluded, a top of a low level tomb, where they'd consume a pack of Phillip Morris. Being a shy and soft person when I was still in Elementary, I just watch them fool around with each other and puff some smokes every now and then. But that is not how I really remember Daniel. We grew up together and went to the same prep school. He was my best friend.
Today and Back. Kids today are lucky. With all the cheap china toys available and the wide available options to choose what happiness to indulge into, PSPs, Xbox, Gameboys, Internet Games and what nots, anyone hardly passes time to read books and spend time playing board games.
That is why I admire these two kids, for reasons their parents limits their toy allowances, why they probably just sit down and and spend time watching jeeps pass by. Somehow they are fortunate to discover a different essence of friendship. Sitting down and passing time...
The amount of joy we were able to share with them as we see their smiles, brought joy to us as well. Simplicity that is enough to radiate a different kind of happiness to people around us.
